Why Internet Becomes so Important Nowadays?

We  often hear “Internet” in everyday life. Do you know what is the meaning of Internet??
Internet or Interconnected Network is a web that can connect all computer in the world to be a very big computer web. Early, Internet is called ARPANET (Advanced Research Project Agency). Internet is use since 1986 until nowadays.

Our country, Indonesia start used internet on 1990. However, now this country is a country with the most internet user number 15^th in the world. While, for Asia Region, Indonesia is the most internet user number 5 after China, Japan, India and South Corea.

Internet is very important for us because it gives so many advantages for us. Internet can be communication device, information source. By using internet, we can communicate with all people in the world in fast time and in cheap cost. The most internet application that is used by people to do communication is e-mail and chatting.

As information source, internet has all kinds of information that we need. We can get everything, start from education, entertainment, politic, criminal, social and other information.  

The use of internet in Indonesia in education side is minim. Actualy, there are so many forms of the use of internet in education, such as :

1.      Share observation result

We can share our observation result in internet. We also can get people’s observation result.

2.      Consult with the specialist

We can consult with the specialist in other place trough e-mail, chatting or mailing list. So, the distance will not be problem for us.

3.      Online library (e-library)

Online library is a library in digital form. By using this application, we can access knowledge source easily.

4.      Online discussion (e-learning)

With this application, the students can share their mind to each other without gather in one place.

So, the internet so important for us because :

1.      Internet makes the communication be easier, and faster.

2.      Internet can give so many new information.
